In a day where for the crowd who stayed, disappointment turned to joy. As they watched on as Riga dominated the whole match from start to finish as it finished 8-0, which is a new club record.

With a strong team to work with, Manager Mo Awada played with the strongest 11 he has had all season and decided to play Karim ‘the moroccan magician’ Gouglou as a lone striker. While having a very strong, attacking midfield.

From the kick off, Riga looked dangerous. This was not the United Marienburg were expecting. The combination of Krause, Agebrant, Gouglou and Meļniks were combining well as their fast pace game was a lot to handle.

It took 18 minutes for the first goal to come, after a lovely set up from the magician, it was left to Meļniks to smash it home past the keeper.

There was certainly a brief scary moment for the fans as a Marienburg corner came in, the goalie went for it missed it but a fantastic clearance off the line from Uldis Aliks preventing the game being level.

Apparently, referees not knowing what a yellow or red card is, seems to be the theme of this season, as countless dangerous challenges with studs up in the air came from Marienburg players as they found it difficult to cope with United’s pace.

The second goal came from a free kick in the 38th minute when it came flying in, only for Gouglou to meet it with a controlled head. Barely 2 minutes later and no sooner had the update been done for the second goal, the 3rd came in the 40th, as Riga broke from a counter, with Alex Alunāns playing a delightful part in it, they stormed down the pitch, for Alunāns to put a cross in and Meļniks finished.

Into the second half, it was up to the Moroccan Magician, to conjure what must be one of the best plays of individual football seen, at least 3 Marienburg players tried to get the ball from him as he tried to shoot, but he just danced around them, laid it off to Agebrant, who sweetly curled it into the far side of the goal in the 54th min.

Into the 64th minute and it was finally hard working Niels Krause to get on the scoresheet as he got in a header from a corner.

With the game in hand and Marienburg looking like they were not getting back into this, Meļniks and Gouglou made way for Julian Lock and Roman Sorando.

It was only in the 82nd min, the 6th goal came as from another corner, this time from the far side, and Krause made it with another header.

The 7th came from a wonderful counter again this time, with much pleasure to the fans and fellow players, Julian Lock got his goal with a thunderbolt.

Finally the 8th came from Agebrant on the stroke of the final whistle, as a cross came in, he found the net brilliantly.

It should be noted Marienburg did have chances but none of them really threatening. Though, the goalie Kelkit was certainly kept busy enough and will be happy with a clean sheet. And the defence was very solid.

United will be proud of this result, they have been getting better and better over the last couple of weeks. Though they will need to come back down to the ground as they have a tough game against FK Lāčplēsis.

Šī bija spēle, kas tiem skatītājiem, kas palika pēc RU dāmu spēles, no sarūgtinājuma jūtām pārvērtās priekā. Šī bija spēle, kurā Riga United dominēja no pirmās minūtes līdz pēdējajai nodrošinot sev uzvaru ar 8-0, kas ir šīs sezonas kluba rekords.

Menedžeris Mo Awada rīcībā bija stiprākais no iespējamajamiem sastāviem un viņs izvēlējās spēlēt Karimu “marokāņu burvi” Gouglou kā vienīgo uzbrucēju un izvēloties ļoti spēcīgu un uzbrūkošu pussargu līniju.

Jau no paša spēles sākuma Rīga izskatījās bīstami un šī noteikti nebija United komanda, ar ko bija rēķinājušies Marienburg spēlētāji. Kombinacionālā sadarbība starp Krause, Agebrantu Gouglou un Meļniku darbojās tik ātri un meistarīgi, ka pretiniekiem sagādāja daudz grūtību.

Bija nepieciešamas 18 minūtes, lai United gūtu savus pirmos vārtus, kad pēc brīnišķīgas izspēles mūsu marokāņu burvja izpildījumā, Meļnikam vien atlika bumbu raidīt garām vārtsargam.

Vienā no nākamajiem momentiem jau United faniem nācās pasvīst, kad, pēc Marienburga izpildīta soda sitiena, no vārtiem izgājis neveiksmīgi nospēlēja vārtsargs, bet par prieku fanime un United meistarīgi jau no pašas vārtu līnijas bumbu “izvilka” Uldis Aliks.

Izbrīnijā nācās secināt, ka tiesnesis ir visai maz nojausmas, kas tās tādas dzeltenā un sarkanā kartiņas tādas ir (nebūt ne ne pirmo reizi šīs sezonas garumā), kad neskaitāmos gadījumos Marienburg spēlētāji, nespēdami tikt galā ar United spēles tempu, agresīvi nospēlēja pret mūsu spēlētājiem.

Otrie vārti nāca spēles 38. minūtē pēc izpildīta soda sitiena, ko Gouglou meistarīgi novirzīja vārtos ar galvu. Jau 2 minūtes vēlāk Riga svinēja savu trešo vārtu guvumu, kur pretuzbrukumā Alexs Alunāns meistarīgi nospēlēja laukuma vidusdaļā un aiztriecoties pretinieku vārtu virzienā izdarīja skaistu centrējumu uz Meļniku, kas bumbu raidīja vārtu tīklā.

Ceturtos vārtus spēles 54. minūtē uzbūra mūsu marokāņu burvis, kas varētu teikt apdejoja trīs pretinieku spēlētājus un pēc tam to iedeva pa sitienam Agebrantam, kas skaisti iegrieza bumbu vārtu tālākajā stūrī.

Spēles 64. minūtē smagi strādājošais Niels Krause beidzot atvēra savu vārtu kontu, pēc stūra sitiena raidot bumbu vārtos ar galvu.

Spēlei ejot no rokas un Marienburg nespējot neko darīt, lai apturētu United ārtu birumu, Meļniks ar Gouglou abi izveidoja lieliskas iespējas vārtu gūšanai Julianam Lock un Romanam Sarando.

Sestie vārti nāca spēles 82. minūtē, kad pēc kārtējā stūra sitiena ar galvu veiksmīgi spēlēja Krause gūstot savus otros vārtus šai spēlē.

Spēles 7tie vārti tika gūti kārtējā no brīnišķīgaji izpildītajiem pretuzbrukumiem, kad gan sev, gan skatītājiem par prieku vārtus ar spēcīgu šāvienu guva Julians Locks.

Visu beidzot astotie vārti tika gūti līdz ar beigu svilpi, kad pēc sekmīga centrējuma pirmais pie bumbas tika Agebrants ar skaistu sitienu raidot to vārtu tīklā.

Jāatzīmē, ka arī Marienburg bija iespējas gūt vārtus, tomēr ne viena no tām nebija bīstama, bet arī mūsu vārtsargam Kelkitam darba bija gana un kā viņš tā arī sekmīgi darbojoša aizsargu līnija būs apmierināti ar “sauso” spēli.

United noteikti jābūt apmierinātiem ar parādīto sniegumu un ir redzams, ka United spēle ar katru nedēļu uzlabojas. Nākamajā spēlē tomēr puišus sagaida smags pārbaudījums, jo pretī stāsies FK Lāčplēsis, kas būs pavisam cita līmeņa komanda, kā Marienburg.
