Cup competitions are always an event, as this one will no doubt be.  Riga United are looking forward to taking on their counterparts from Jelgava as it will be an excellent experience for all.

Last year, Riga were unlucky on their cup run as they got through the first round beating Rīnūži 3-0, then went to play 1.Līga opponents FK Jēkabpils.  This was a tough game and it was only through penalties Riga United lost.  So they will no doubt be ‘chomping at the bit’ to get involved in this year’s competition.

Riga United are coming off good form from this week, claiming 6pts from 2 away wins.  So they will be heading into this game with full confidence.  However, little is known about their opponents and will no doubt it will be something for United to think about.

Player/Coach Graham Williams will take control tomorrow, as Mo Awada is still away and this is what he had to say: “Cup games are always special and this one will be no different. This is our 4th game in 8 days so we have made changes to give some of the guys a rest, however those coming into the starting line-up have been pushing hard and will give 110% on the day. We are looking forward to a battle and hopefully progressing to the next round”

Team news:
Unfortunately, Matehus Johansen and Thadi Omezdi are unavailable, however there is a recall for defender Dainis Savickis, who is likely to make his first appearance for The Black cats this year.
The strike partnership of Karim Gouglou and Jānis Pakalns is set to continue and after the clean sheet on Friday, Goalie Murat Kelkit retains his place between the sticks.
